Description
G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centre is recruiting for Building Service Worker I’s.  Successful candidates will be responsible for routine work performing custodial care, cleaning and daily maintenance of municipal buildings and facilities. This position requires sound knowledge of custodial and maintenance procedures and experience with up-to-date cleaning methods, minor building and equipment repair, and the use, care and upkeep of the materials and equipment used. 

The successful candidate(s) will work varying shifts including days, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays (up to 37.5 hours/week) and shifts are subject to change.

Requirements

Requirements include Grade 11 or equivalent; Building Service Worker Level 1; three months related experience; WHMIS certification valid within one year; and a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector check (PIC-VS). Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Salary & Benefits

These are C.U.P.E. Local 2011 positions with a wage of $30.16 per hour and an additional 15% pay in lieu of benefits.
