This is a non-union front line management position responsible for the administration, operational planning, coordination, supervision and quality control and delivery specifically for the Recreation operations and maintenance in our Parks and Recreation Department.
Our ideal candidate
- Responsible for dryland space, aquatic facilities, user groups, recreation programming activities, and related revenue/expenditures decisions and maintaining customer service focus for recreation activities.
- Direct the day to day operation of recreation programs, aquatics and fitness activities.
- Has a thorough knowledge of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Ensures that the Parks & Recreation Department customer service and experience expectations are implemented and adhered to.
- Provide leadership and management of staff towards successful attainment of established goals.
- Has a working knowledge of municipal budgeting principles and practices.
- Will directly supervise department coordinators, and maintain constructive relationships with the Parks Superintendent, departmental staff, other city departments, user groups, organizations and the public.

Qualifications
- Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in commerce, management or recreation or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Five (5) years' experience in Recreation or a related field, including three (3) years in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
- Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
