Responsibilities:

Provide expert advice and guidance to people leaders on the prevention and resolution of complex employee relations issues including managing processes around performance management, discipline, terminations and grievances

Provide advice, guidance and tools to employees and leaders on processes and options to address workplace issues

Provide strategic and business partner advisory HR services and expertise to support department leaders in workforce planning, organizational design and talent management initiatives within assigned portfolio

Foster and achieve consistency of expectations and service delivery across departments and ensure hands-on support for complex employee relations or HR advisory issues

Understand, interpret, and apply relevant HR and employment legislation, policies, directives, and guidelines

Participate in union liaison meetings, grievances and collective bargaining as required; foster positive relationships between the employer and union through collaborative issues resolution

Partner with Disability Management to develop recommendations and solutions for complex return to work and duty to accommodate situations

Collaborate with and support other programs areas across HR to develop and implement HR strategies, initiatives and ensure organizational effectiveness

Provide coaching, supports and training to leaders to develop organizational leadership capabilities

Demonstrated expertise in advising and supporting leaders in workforce planning and the implementing HR programs and initiatives to achieve corporate goals

Strong conflict resolution, coaching and facilitation skills to support leaders in positive and productive workplace relationships and facilitate issues resolution where applicable

Excellent communication and presentation skills to clearly and concisely present recommendations, training and supporting analysis to HR leadership and client partners

Strategic and critical thinking skills to analyze information, consider risks and recommend a course of action consistent with HR best practices

Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism

Strong experience in organizational design and change management and experience in applying best practices
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Human Resources Management, Industrial or Labour Relations or a related HR area
-
Minimum of 7 years of directly related and progressive work experience providing strategic workforce planning advice and employee/labour relations advisory services to management with at least 2 years of senior professional level and /or leadership experience

Preference for public sector experience working with multiple employee groups (both unionized and non-unionized environments)

Broad experience and understanding of Human Resource management with an ability to apply the underlying principles and theory to new situations and to develop new and innovative strategies and approaches to evolving complex situations
Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.

Pay Range: $95,004.00 - $118,773.20
