Our Team:
The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) and Region of Waterloo (ROW), the “Organizations”, are embarking on a partnership to implement a shared Human Experience Management (HXM) solution. As the Organizations endeavor to enhance employee efficiency and deliver the best service possible to their communities, this new HXM solution will provide enhanced strategic value by introducing modern business practices, replacing outdated systems, and enabling a world-class user experience.
The Organizations have partnered with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for implementation and the contracted solution is the SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite (cloud-based).
The HXM solution will provide the following functionality: Human Resource Information Management, Recruitment Management, Human Resources Compliance and Labour Relations, Payroll & Finance, Talent Management, Organizational Wellness, Advanced Reports & Analytics, and Workforce Management.
The Opportunity:
As SAP HXM Functional Analyst you will be an integral member of the Enterprise Human Experience Management Solution (HXM) project team. With your years of human resource and SAP experience you will help produce solution design and documentation for complex enterprise applications with expert attention to all architectural qualities and business processes for an effectively working Human Experience Management solution. Apply your Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- You must have extensive experience in SAP SuccessFactors framework, Human Resource processes, Canadian payroll and Time and Attendance management with excellent functional and technical skills.
- You must be able to work with the HR subject matter experts to understand their needs and coach them on appropriate solutions, while at the same time work with technical support teams to drive them to an efficient technical solution design.
- You must demonstrate excellent time management skills to work both in a project and support role.
- You will aid in the development of configuration workbooks for SAP Human Enterprise Management (HXM) to meet legal, regulatory, and business requirements and participate in workflow improvement projects.
- You will analyze and assess business requests and determine options for implementation.
- You will conduct analytics, compile reports, and recommend system or business process improvements.
- You will work with the HXM Project Team to prioritize and implement SuccessFactors system modules.
- You will work with the HXM Testing and Cutover Lead and help to facilitate user acceptance testing.
Apply Your Experience at the Region of Waterloo:
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a functional analyst for SAP HXM solutions and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of customizing of Payroll (Specialty in Canadian payroll), Time management, Benefits, Finance Integration and all HXM related activities.
- Knowledge of the practices, principles and procedures related to payroll regulations, basic accounting for payroll, and administrative functions in a payroll environment.
- Ability to carry out support activities related to HR Payroll (Canada) including knowledge of tax calculations, Canadian legislation, and year-end related activities. Knowledge of scheduling, and staffing processes and procedures.
- Ability to translate stakeholder requirements into various documentation deliverables such as functional specifications, use cases and workflow/process diagrams.
- Ability to analyze business processes and systems, identifying inefficiencies or enhancements, and documenting business processes and procedures.
- Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements that will enable the design of flexible solutions.
- Ability to effectively articulate functionality of SAP SuccessFactors to business and IT teams at various levels.
- Extensive working knowledge of SAP HXM, particularly Time Management and Payroll, and experience with integration between SAP modules and with other systems.
- Excellent judgement and creative thinking skills in decision-making actions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging partners, writing reports, and presenting research conclusions.
- Experience working in a shared model with multiple other teams.
- Experience in supporting Canadian HR and payroll services.
- Experience in an SAP SuccessFactors full implementation cycle
- Leadership, facilitation, and negotiation skills to develop consultative relationships with senior leaders, provide consultation and support to members; and create an atmosphere of collaboration and mutual respect.
- Experience in conflict management and negotiation is an asset.
- Experience working in municipal or public sector workplaces, with union and non-union team members, is preferred.
- Ability to comply with corporate policies and procedures, collective agreements, and related legislation applicable to the Organizations is required.
- Computer skills with the ability to use software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet’s, Jira and other project-related software.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision, to adapt to changing priorities, and to organize and prioritize using strong time management skills. Ability to coordinate work schedules to work within and meet deadlines.
- Experience implementing and/or using cloud-based SAP SuccessFactors Human Experience Management (HXM) is required.
- Ability to meet WRPS security clearance requirements as required.
