Description
The District of Saanich seeks an individual who will provide direction to the development, planning, coordination, scheduling, and evaluation of recreation program areas at the Cedar Hill Recreation Centre. This position oversees the operation of the Arts Centre at Cedar Hill, including art and ceramics studios, visual and performing arts programs and wellness programs. The Programmer II will also be responsible for the supervision of staff, marketing of programs and community and partnership development. 

Requirements

Requirements include: a University Degree in Recreation, leisure studies or related field with a minimum three years’ experience in recreation programming; satisfactory Police Information Check (with Vulnerable Sector check) and a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will be required to work varying hours including evenings and weekends (35 hours per week).

Salary & Benefits

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $45.41 per hour plus 13% in lieu of benefits. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
