Responsible for the documentation and analysis of environmental data derived from environmental monitoring programs; to implement the Basement Flood Alleviation and environmental education programs and involvement in the implementation of the St. Catharines Pollution Control Plan (PCP).
Duties and Responsibilities:

Document, analyze, evaluate and interpret environmental data derived from environmental projects and programs.

Prepare documentation and technical reports including concise summary briefs for environmental projects and programs.

Prepare and maintain environmental data in electronic formats suitable for sewer system and water quality modelling including appropriate quality control protocols.

Liaise between the Corporation and other government, private or public agencies or groups or citizens regarding Division education and environmental projects and programs.

Perform environmental field work including beach placarding programs, using the required protocols, on an as required basis.

Conduct environmental public education programs.

Assist with the implementation of special environment related projects as assigned.

Perform other similar and related duties as required.
Position Requirements:

College Diploma (three (3) year) in environmental science or engineering technology.

Two (2) years of current experience in an environmental science field including experience in environmental restoration, water resources, pollution abatement and application of environmental principles.

Demonstrated knowledge of environmental legislation, technology, hydrological, ecological, statistical and environmental principles and practices.

Required to work in confined spaces with the appropriate training.

Strong analytical and organizational skills with well developed communication skills both written and verbal.

Exceptional customer service skills with a strong sense of public service and cooperation, and well developed abilities to deal with the public and citizens’ groups.

Well-developed computer skills with knowledge of a wide range of software programs and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software programs.

Availability to work flexible hours.

Proven completion of Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness training.

Valid Ontario Driver’s licence, Class “G”, with a clean driving record.
CUPE 157 Pay Group 7 – Minimum $55,759 annually; Maximum $61,942 annually
Expected Work Location: 360 Niagara St (eligible for part-time remote work)
Hours of Work: Currently Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 3:30pm
