Working under the guidance of the RDCK Communications Coordinator and collaboratively with Community Services staff, this position ensures internal and external Regional Parks & Recreation marketing and communications initiatives are coordinated, timely, cost effective and appropriate for the desired target market. This position plans, leads, implements and analyzes engagement processes for the public, stakeholders, and Regional District staff and supports decision making with quantifiable data. They work with staff to lead and develop an engaging social media presence, well-crafted public messaging, and aims to project the respected high profile brand which is recognized throughout the district.
Qualifications:
· A degree in a related field of study such as Public Relations, or Communications with 2 years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Demonstrated experience with social media management, including but not limited to: campaign planning, writing copy, content management, user engagement, analytics and analysis
· Demonstrated experience developing and implementing communication and engagement plans
· Demonstrated experience working with the media and issues management
· Highly collaborative and a demonstrated ability to source solutions
· Class 5 Drivers License
