Description
The City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Equipment Operator, Asphalt. Under the general direction of the Foreman or Sub-Foreman, the incumbent carries out work in the operation, maintenance, and servicing of a variety of mobile, construction and maintenance equipment and related attachments pertaining to construction and maintenance of road right of ways, roads and laneways.

Requirements

Applicants must have completed Grade 12 and have a minimum 2 years’ experience in the operation and servicing of construction equipment in the performance of a variety of construction and maintenance tasks. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. A valid BC Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Air Endorsement is required for this position.

Salary & Benefits

This is a unionized position.  $34.62 per hour - after Probation (Jan 2022 Rate), based on a 40 hour work week.
