Financial Services Department

CUPE 1505

Position Type/ Hours:

This is a permanent full-time position working eighty-four (84) hours bi-weekly within the Accounting Services Branch of the Financial Services Department. This position is within the CUPE 1505 Bargaining Unit. This position is located in the community of Fort McMurray, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo’s urban centre.

 

Position Description:

Under limited supervision the incumbent is responsible for maintaining the parts room/supplies, sourcing out and generating new parts sales and transporting supplies and parts to the work area.

 

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Generates and tracks purchasing orders.
  • Keeps paperwork current to insure thorough action on all transactions.
  • Orders, receives and tracks parts.
  • Process work orders and customer invoices.
  • Transport parts/supplies to work locations.
  • Sources parts locally to reduce parts costs and equipment down time.
  • Works with fleet to maintain and support department with cost effective parts orders and processing.
  • Builds working relationships with local and regional suppliers and maintain a directory of vendors and items carried.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

 

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Alberta Journeyperson Parts Technician is required (Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset).
  • Two (2) years of experience working in a parts or warehouse environment is required.
  • Two (2) years of experience using a computerized inventory system is required.
  • Previous Mechanical experience and equipment operations an asset.
  • Experience in a Fleet environment is an asset.

 

You will possess the following:

  • Valid Forklift Certification is required.
  • Proficient reading skills
  • Proficient knowledge of computer applications (Windows, General Office equipment, Electronic Mail, Word Processing software, spreadsheet software, Inventory Control Software, Internet Browser).
  • Thorough understanding of warehouse and inventory systems.
  • Exhibits professional work behaviors and high ethical standards.
  • Fast paced, work under pressure, tight deadlines, repetitive task, handling heavy loads. Hand-eye co-ordination.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Valid Class Five (5) Alberta Driving licence is required (clear driving record an asset).
  • Valid Class Three (3) Alberta Driving licence is an asset.

Salary Range:

Market rate

$54.79 (Start Rate)

$56.67 (Permanent Rate)

 

Evaluated Rate

$44.08 (Start Rate)

$51.80 (Permanent rate)

 

*Permanent rate effective after twelve (12) months of employment.

***Rate has been adjusted to reflect current market conditions.
