The City of Grande Prairie is currently looking for a Senior Executive Advisor to support the Director of Community Services. The Senior Executive Advisor represents the office by communicating and interacting with senior administration, elected officials, other levels of government, outside agencies, internal staff and the public in a respectful and professional manner.
The Senior Executive Advisor must work independently, exercise good judgment, handle sensitive situations, and expeditiously deal with the business of the service area, which often requires handling highly confidential information and exercising tact and diplomacy. The Senior Executive Advisor is required to research and analyze facts and circumstances, make timely decisions and take ownership and accountability for all assigned projects. This role also works to establish and sustain a high caliber of report and presentation standards within the service area.
This position requires an energetic, detail oriented individual who has exceptional planning and organization skills and can multi-task with the ability to be flexible and meet stringent deadlines. Keen political and business acumen is required for optimal performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic advice to service area and to the Director.
- Serve as primary point of contact for the Director's office and perform a wide variety of executive support functions to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the office.
- Anticipate needs for the senior executives by connecting and making sense of diverse information arising from multiple sources.
- Conduct research, analyze data, and develop reports for service area projects. Present reports to the appropriate forum, as requested.
- Identify strategies, gain approval and lead implementation of process improvements within the organization.
- Provides budget analysis and ensures financial reporting requirements are completed.
You Bring
- A bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or equivalent.
- Seven (7) years of directly related work experience, including a minimum of two (2) years in a senior executive support capacity.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Valid Class-5 driver's licence required.
Salary/Wage
$48.97 - $60.15 per hour
