Description
Reporting to the Manager of Parks, Recreation, & Building Maintenance, the Maintenance Supervisor is largely responsible for the overall day-to-day maintenance of key buildings, park facilities, fleet as well as other key machinery/equipment.

 

KEY DUTIES:

 

  • Provide input into departmental policies, procedures, annual operating budgets, capital budgets and business plans
  • Assist with the ongoing maintenance of a detailed inventory of all municipal facilities and their components, park facilities, fleet as well as other key machinery/equipment
  • Responsible for leading a maintenance team and for contract management and administration of departmental maintenance service contracts
  • Assist with the implementation of a comprehensive facilities maintenance software system including a work order component
  • Develop plans and schedules to support the implementation of a detailed preventative maintenance plan
  • Implement strategies to prevent, respond to, and resolve risk management issues
  • Ensure that health and safety programs and requirements are followed
  • Provide set-up and take-down services and support for municipally sponsored special events
  • Provide back-up support for Manager and Supervisor of Projects when required
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • College diploma in facilities/equipment maintenance, electrical, mechanical, engineering, architecture or a related field
  • Minimum four (4) years supervisory experience preferable within a facilities maintenance environment
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
  • Maintenance Management Profession (MMP) certification considered a strong asset
  • Familiarity with Maintenance Management Systems (MMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS) and energy conservation best practices
  • Familiarity with asset management, procurement processes and managing service contracts
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code Act, Fire Code, Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and writing) and problem solving skills
  • Bilingualism is a definite asset
  • Current and clear Criminal Record Check required
  • Valid G Driver’s Licence
Salary & Benefits

SALARY LEVEL 207:    $78,832 to $94,619 (2019)
