The City of St. Albert has an opportunity available for a permanent HVAC Technician to join our Public Works & Transit department. Under the direction of the Building Maintenance Team Lead, the HVAC Technician will work in all City facilities and perform various duties in the area of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning maintenance and repair. As well, you will be involved in the installation and alteration of HVAC/R systems and will ensure work will be in compliance with corporate and provincially legislated Occupation Health and Safety regulations, policies and codes of practice, and the City of St. Albert Environmental Management System.

HOURS OF WORK

7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Participation in the standby roster will be required.

This position is represented by the CUPE Local 941 Collective Agreement.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory police information check and an RCMP issued Reliability clearance.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12
  • Class 5 Alberta Drivers license
  • First Aid Certification
  • Journeyman Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic certificate recognized by the Province of Alberta
  • Minimum for 5 years recent and directly related HVAC/R building maintenance experience
  • Experience with BAS controls an asset
  • Proficiency in planning and organizing
  • Excellent trouble shooting and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Salary & Benefits

COMPENSATION

$43.40 per hour. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a generous and comprehensive benefit package.
