This is an opportunity to apply your skills in a unique customer-service role. An ideal candidate for Transit Driver must meet the following:
- Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) education or equivalency.
- Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess OR capable of possessing a Class “BZ” or “CZ” Ontario’s Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record. No transit experience is required, the employer will train.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills in dealing with the public, staff and outside agencies in a courteous and effective manner.
- Prior customer service experience preferred.
- Be able to work a flexible work schedule including shift work and weekend work
- Have good knowledge of City streets, bus routes and schedules.
- Ability to perform service duties in garage (if required)
- Ability to compile various reports.
- Clear Driver’s Abstract required
- Clear Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen.
- Current WHMIS Certificate an asset.
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
$25.46 per hour (In accordance with CUPE Local 1544 Agreement)
