Description
Regular work hours shall be 46 hours per week. Successful applicant should anticipate regular and extended hours during the normal construction season (approximately May to November) and call backs throughout the winter season
to assist with snow and ice clearing as required. Compensation will be as per union agreement.
Applicant must have sufficient math competencies to set grade lines, establish benchmark elevations and other tasks to complete standard rainage projects.
Job responsibility shall be to provide temporary relief on a variety of municipal public works equipment and other assigned duties. The successful applicant may be responsible for low bedding equipment to sites and requires a
class 1 license. Successful applicant will be junior on the departmental seniority list and should expect assignment of labour tasks such as traffic signage, culvert maintenance, etc. between relief operator assignments.
Successful applicant must possess experience in operating the following equipment: tractors & rough cut mower operation, tandem trucks, and low bed trucks, motor graders and track hoe.
Requirements
Applicants must provide a drivers license abstract providing proof of a valid Class 1 driver’s license in the Province of Manitoba.
Applicant must have proven track record in the operation of heavy equipment.
