the Local Systems Support (LSS) will provide local technical and system support to assist with
program management within the Public Health, Safety and Social Services commission.
Duties include but are not limited to, assisting with the design and development of data collection
processes and tools to assist with monitoring and evaluating programs, as well as analyzing data to
help inform both program outcomes and strategic direction for the Commission and external agency
partners.
As directed, the incumbent will review business processes and recommend changes and alternatives
relating to departmental business applications, and will assist in the ongoing support, testing and
training for a number of local application and program initiatives.
The incumbent will provide training and support and will develop written instructions, training guides
and/or reference materials as required. They will also assist in the procurement and deployment of
annual technology refresh. The incumbent will provide support related to provincial and municipal
systems, including connectivity, network and desktop hardware and software support, assisting in the
development and completion of related documentation, as well as providing statistical reporting for
programming as required.
The incumbent will also act as Local Registration Agents (LRA) for the provincial Social Assistance
Management System (SAMS) users, setting up and assigning security rights and managing PKI
certificates.
Applicants must have successfully completed a two (2) year community college or University
program in computer studies and/or network management or a combination of education and
related experience.
• Experience in database design and administration is an asset to this position.
• Excellent customer service and presentation skills are required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form and be able to work
both independently and as part of a team.
• The successful incumbent must have excellent organization skills to work within tight
timeframes and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
$59,132 to $73,915 (35 hour work week including benefits)
