Description
Responsible to the Director of Care for provision, implementation and supervision of resident care to ensure quality of life for each individual resident. Delivers care, which is individualized and resident-focused. Required to assist with the planning and development of the resident care plan, which support the effective and efficient management of the nursing department. The Registered Nurse is expected to work in conjunction with all other departments in terms of care delivery.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Availability on a reasonable basis for all three shifts, weekend work and call-ins
- Computer skills: Familiarity using PointClickCare is an asset as is knowledge and experience with the MDS/RAI
- strong leadership
- Experience administering medication
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work interdependently
- Knowledge and experience with the Long Term Care Homes Act and regulations
- Knowledge of current pharmacology, and an interest in Gerontological Nursing
- The following certificates would be an asset: Phlebotomy, Wound Care, Gentle Persuasive Approach
