Major Tasks:
- Assists the Manager of Compliance with the daily administrative work load relating to water and sewer meters and quality management.
- Reviews, updates and creates water and wastewater quality management system documentation; and, creates standard operating procedures, maintenance of record keeping, operational plan elements (Risk assessment audits, continuous improvement documentation, etc.).
- Coordinates the workload for internal and contracted services staff, and supporting with information transfer, work order processing and responding to related issues, including water meter repair schedule, industrial/commercial metering work.
- Handles customer concerns regarding water/sewer billing discrepancies and meter issues.
- Creates standard operating procedures maintenance record keeping and status reporting on contracted services.
- Possession of three year college diploma in a related field with Certified Engineering Technologist certificate (CET) through Ontario Association of Certified Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).
- Water Distribution License Level 2 Operator Certificate (MOECC). Wastewater Collection License Level 2 Certificate (MOECC).
- Four to five years’ experience in a related field. Administration and auditing of a quality management system (ISO 14000, ISO9000, DWQMS, etc.) preferred.
- Experience working within a licensed municipal drinking water distribution and sewer collection system.
- Knowledge and understanding of Federal/Provincial/Municipal acts, regulations, by-laws and associated guidance documents, blue print review, technical papers/articles, water consumption reports, tenders, RFPs/RFQs.
- General understanding of industrial processes impacting water and/or wastewater.
- Project management and supervision experience.
- Ability to use MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), GIS Database and Work Management Systems, Water Billing Systems.
The annual salary range is $64,698 to $68,761, 2015 rates, Job Grade 9 (subject to review in six months). Currently, the regular hours of work for this position are Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 2:30 pm. A comprehensive benefit program is also available.
