Description
There is an opening for the above position within Wastewater Operations, Public Works Division of the Development and Infrastructure Department, reporting to the Supervisor – Wastewater Operations, available immediately. 

 

Major Tasks:

  • Assists the Manager of Wastewater with the daily administrative work load relating to wastewater maintenance operations, contract administration, and pump station operations

  • Contract administration for pump station construction and maintenance activities; SCADA reporting and managing daily documentation load.

  • Creates standard operating procedures, maintenance of record keeping, and status reporting on contracted services.

  • Coordinates workload for internal and contracted services staff and supports with information transfer, work order processing and responses to related issues.

  • Prepares pump station reports.

  • Reviews operator licensing requirements and applications; assembles and submits license renewal/upgrade packages.

  • Creates, reviews, and updates contracted services program.

Requirements
  1. Possession of three year college diploma in a related field with Certified Engineering Technologist certificate (CET) through Ontario Association of Certified Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).

  2. Water Distribution License Level 2 Operator Certificate (MOECC). Wastewater Collection License Level 2 Certificate (MOECC).

  3. Four to five years’ experience in a related field. Administration and auditing of a quality management system (ISO 14000, ISO9000, DWQMS etc.) preferred.

  4. Experience working within a licensed municipal drinking water distribution and sewer collection system.General understanding of industrial processes impacting water and/or wastewater.

  5. Project management and supervision.

  6. Knowledge and understanding of Federal/Provincial/Municipal acts, regulations, by-laws and associated guidance documents, blue print review, technical papers/articles, water consumption reports, tenders, RFPs/RFQs.

  7. Ability to use MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), GIS Database and Work Management Systems, and SCADA.

Salary & Benefits

The annual salary range is $64,698 to $68,761, 2015 rates, Job Grade 9 (subject to review in six months). Currently, the regular hours of work for this position are Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 3:00pm.  A comprehensive benefit program is also available.
