REGISTRATION ADMINISTRATOR
AND DATA ANALYST
Recreation Services Department
Position Overview: Under the general guidance and direction of the Manager of Business Services, the Registration Administrator and Data Analyst position is responsible for overseeing the City’s recreation registration system. Specifically, this position is responsible for providing technical support and training to users of the City’s recreation registration system; planning, developing and executing data analysis to fulfill reporting requirements; and administering the registration system which includes set up and maintenance of the system. Overall, this positon plays an integral role in maximizing the operational usefulness, performance and data integrity of the City’s recreation registration system to enable the City to offer comprehensive and enjoyable recreation programs to residents.

Key Qualifications:
Education (degree/diploma/certifications)
- Three (3) year University Degree in Recreation, Business Administration or related discipline. A four (4) year University Degree in Recreation, Business Administration or related discipline is preferred.
- Courses from an accredited association, organization and/or institution in Training and Development Principles for Adult Learners or related discipline are preferred
Experience
- Three (3) years of experience performing duties related to the above mentioned major responsibilities in a public sector work environment. Three (3) years of experience with registration system administration in a municipal recreation work environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with database and/or registration system administration
- Demonstrated experience delivering training and developing training tools and techniques
- Demonstrated experience developing Staff Reports for presentation to City Council is preferred
- Demonstrated experience creating, verifying, debugging and troubleshooting complex formulas and functions in Excel including advanced programming of logical functions such as IF statements, SUMIF, Pivot tables, LOOKUP and nested statements) are preferred
Knowledge/Skill/Ability
- Thorough knowledge of data analysis techniques and methods
- Thorough knowledge of ActiveNet registration system, including user and system administration is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to identify trends, variances and anomalies in data sets
- Excellent customer service, communication (oral and written), presentation, analytical and problems solving skills
- Computer literacy utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Visio), Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign including the ability to create and modify reports and data queries and create data presentations using various features and functions such as charts, graphs, conditional formatting, subtotals and other functions.
The 2016 pay range is $54,345.20 to $65,101.40 per year ($29.86 to $35.77/hr). The hours of work will be 35 hours/week. For full details regarding this position, please visit our website at www.barrie.ca
