Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee all of the County’s financial operations including credit control, budget preparation, and financial statements,
- Preparation and coordination of annual operating and capital budgets,
- Performance of audit reviews on all reconciliations submitted by the Finance Manager,
- Responsible for financial maintenance and support of financial systems, policies, practices and internal controls,
- Tracking and maintaining tangible capital assets as per the Public Sector Accounting Board,
- Supervision of the management personnel of all corporate services departments,
- Ensure all aspects of risk management, insurance, administration office security, financial asset security, cellular communications and workers compensation reporting are addressed within the Corporate Services departments.
Training and experience:
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, municipal administration or a related field, combined with a professional accounting designation,
- Three to five years relevant and related work experience in municipal finance, preferably in a senior management role,
- Considerable knowledge of provincial and municipal legislation, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Public sector Accounting Guidelines,
- Ability to plan, develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate finance and accounting programs and strategies, and
- Effective management, team building, leadership and supervisory strengths.
Able to work flexible hours as occasional overtime and attendance at meetings and other functions is required.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000.
