We are currently recruiting for a Communication Advisor to join our Corporate Communications and Design team.

As the Communications Advisor, you will enhance the City’s communication and engagement with residents, internal and external stakeholders by providing communications support for your assigned departments, programs and projects.

You will provide communications advice, develop and implement communication and promotional plans, write, and liaise with media. You will also be involved in issues management, web content and social media development/management, project management and coordination (liaise with clients and graphic designers) and event management.

The person we seek has great interpersonal skills, enjoys collaboration and building relationships. They will draw upon their experience and expertise to provide sound advice as a strategic business partner to the clients they support.


 


 


 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Social Sciences or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience as a communications professional working with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to write a variety of content across multiple formats and to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while juggling competing priorities and a large volume of work.
Salary & Benefits

HOURS OF WORK
Compressed work schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly (Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 with a regular day off every two weeks). There is a requirement to work occasional evenings and weekends.


COMPENSATION
$69,103 - $84,075 per annum. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a comprehensive flexible benefit package.
