The City of Surrey contracts with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to provide municipal level police services. The Surrey Detachment is the largest RCMP Detachment in Canada with 661 police (regular and civilian) members and a support staff of 250 municipal employees. Surrey RCMP is also the second largest municipal police force in the province, based on authorized police strength alone.

Reporting to the Manager, RCMP Support Services Division, the Manager Information Services and Technology leads a large team of unionized and exempt staff within the Surrey detachment.  Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, information technology, RCMP records management, court liaison exhibits and disclosure. The Manager leads strategic planning processes and ensures effective and efficient service delivery. The Manager works collaboratively to achieve the goals, objectives, business needs and standards of the Division, RCMP and City.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with a Bachelor Degree in Business Management with education and/or experience in the information technology environment plus a minimum of ten years’ experience in a management role.  S/he has held positions of significant complexity and has a demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.  S/he is committed to continuous improvement in keeping with values of integrity, community, service, innovation and teamwork. Knowledge of public safety records management is an asset (PRIME, PROS, etc.).

Successful applicants being considered for this position must obtain a Reliability Security Clearance with the RCMP Surrey Detachment prior to commencing work within the City of Surrey.
