This series will include:
- an overview of the difference between desired and current LOS
- strategies for developing achievable and realistic desired LOS
- how to meet legislative requirements including an assessment of desired LOS affordability
What You will Learn:
Part 1: Introduction & Key Considerations (Jan. 17 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM) – the first session will cover the basics of shifting from understanding current LOS to setting LOS targets. This session will address public engagement, ensuring alignment with other strategic plans/documents that identify level of service targets, and importance of linking the proposed level of service to the lifecycle management strategy.
Part 2: Case Studies (Jan. 24 from 12:00 - 1:30 PM) – the theory of setting targets for levels of service in the asset management plan will be illustrated using two practical examples from different municipalities. The examples will provide insights on setting targets, exploring alternative scenarios, developing and presenting a levels of service forecast, and high-level financial impact analysis.
