In alignment with our Sport Plan, The Town of Aurora is excited to announce that Allison Forsyth (ITP Sport & Recreation) will be presenting a ‘Safe Sport For All’ workshop focusing on Organizational Success on April 26 at the Aurora Public Library.

Join us for a lunch & learn focusing on ‘how to set up your organization for success’. This is a FREE event, and registration is required as we have limited spots available.

W?e look forward to your participation in this unique and long overdue conversation around Safe Sport.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Awareness and understanding of the current Safe Sport landscape and movement in Canada
  • The forms of maltreatment included in Safe Sport.
  • The understanding of the components involved in an organization's duty to protect their participants.
  • A clear understanding of the steps to take to ensure participant safety within a sports organization.

A?ll registered participants will receive a boxed lunch (sandwich, drink and snack) upon arrival. Multiple dietary options will be available.

Who is our Guest Speaker?

Allison Forsyth - Passionate. Purposeful. Proactive. Allison embodies these three words each day and in every Safe Sport interaction. Driving her is her passion for changing the system and shifting a culture motivated by her own sexual abuse victimization in the Canadian sport system.  Safe Sport is her purpose. A two-time Olympian, 8 time Canadian Champion and a top 15 world ranked athlete  for nearly a decade, Allison is an athlete, advocate, and change maker. Her corporate background in business operations, systemic and crisis communication, and change management rounds out her experiential expertise to make ITP the leading agency for changing the Safe Sport landscape. A true trailblazer and leader in Safe Sport, Allison, through coming forward and sharing her story has been instrumental in the changes to date. She fiercely and proactively can share with anyone and any organization what the real conversation is and steps that need to be taken to prevent and manage abuse in sport. Awareness and education are her top priorities.  She is a proud board member of AthletesCAN and an advisory Committee Member of the SDRCC. She also supported the CCES in the development of the Universal Code of Conduct, and acted as an athlete advocate in the development of the CAC Safe Sport training and education. Allison aims to make sport a safe, positive place for athletes of all levels, driven by  her commitment for a better future in sport for her three young children and yours.
