Description
Municipalities are on the frontline of environmental challenges and have a major role to play in resolving them. This unique course is designed to equip municipal employees with knowledge of market-based tools that can support sustainability, change behaviour, generate revenue and save money.

With the specific needs and challenges of municipal employees in mind, five modules will include live, interactive webinars led by experts and practitioners combined with a series of self-directed, online exercises.

This online professional development course, offered with support from The McConnell Foundation, will draw from Canada’s Ecofiscal Commission’s reports on congestion pricing, water and wastewater user fees and a forthcoming report on solid waste pricing. It also follows on our successful course offered at the federal and provincial levels, “Designing market-based instruments for the environment”.

Students who participate in all Module webinars and complete all related quizzes and case studies will receive a certificate.
