The City of Powell River is pleased to announce the appointment of Sundance Topham as its new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), effective July 7, 2025.

Mayor Ron Woznow shared Council's enthusiasm, saying, "Council is looking forward to working with Sundance, who brings a wealth of experience in local government management and a strong track record of helping organizations, elected officials, and communities achieve their goals. We are confident both the organization and the community will benefit from his leadership. This is a time of opportunity for our community, and we are fortunate to have someone of Sundance's caliber leading our administration."
Sundance has extensive experience in municipal administration, having previously served as CAO for the Village of Cumberland, as CAO and Corporate Officer for the District of Wells, and most recently as Interim CAO for the District of Lantzville.
He holds a Diploma in Local Government Management from the University of Victoria's School of Public Administration and a Diploma in Communications from Camosun College in Victoria.
"My wife and I are looking forward to settling in Powell River," said Sundance. "I am eager to begin working with City staff, Council, and community members to support the City's ongoing priorities."
The City extends a warm welcome to Sundance and his family as they make Powell River their new home.
