Cathy began her career at the City of Chatham in 1992 with the Social Services department and, following amalgamation in 1998, transitioned into the role of Manager of Recruitment, Training, and Development. Her leadership and dedication to public service led her to the position of Director of Human Resources in 2003. In December 2017, Cathy took on her current role as General Manager of Corporate Services and Chief Human Resource Officer, where she provided strategic leadership and unwavering commitment to best service the people of Chatham-Kent.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Hoffman has been an integral part of numerous committees, both within the municipality and externally, making significant contributions to policy development, workforce planning, and organizational excellence. Her professional achievements include earning the Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation, a Master of Public Administration (MPA), and a Municipal Law Certification.

"It has been a true privilege to spend so many years working alongside great colleagues who care deeply about making a difference in our community," said Cathy Hoffman. "I am grateful beyond words for the opportunities I had and even more excited to see all the ways our municipal team will eclipse the accomplishments that I got to be a part of."

Cathy's retirement coincides with the search for a Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (DCAO) that is currently underway and will generate opportunities for restructuring the Municipality's Executive Management Team to better serve both the organization and the overall community of Chatham-Kent at no additional cost.
