About You / What We Are Looking For

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic, personable, energetic and outgoing fitness professionals to complement our Aquatic Fitness team.  These casual positions are responsible for planning and leading aquatic based fitness classes at various Coquitlam recreation facilities. Candidates will have the opportunity to lead classes forgroups of participants ranging in experience level.  We are looking to bring on a wide range of instructors to join our team including but not limited to: ShallowFit, DeepFit, GentleFit, Aqua Zumba, Water Running. The hours of work are varied and may include day, evening and weekend classes; this opportunity is best suited to individuals seeking part-time, occasional work.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates are required to have flexible availability.  Classes may be scheduled in mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
  • Current BCRPA Fitness Certification (or equivalent certification approved by the City of Coquitlam)
  • Current CPR-A certification
  • Specialty module certifications/licenses are required for some program offerings (Zumba, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience planning and leading group fitness and aquafit classes

Shortlisted applicants will be required to:

  • Attend a skill screening session and an interview
  • Complete a Police Information Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Provide work-related references

What We Offer:

This position has an hourly rate starting at $38.40 plus an additional 4% in lieu. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
