About the Role
We are looking for a regular full-time Inventory Clerk. You will work as part of the Stores team in the operation of inventory functions and maintenance of the warehouse. You can expect a variety of work which will include reconciling differences in inventory records and physical counts, performing a series of integrated inventory control tasks; receiving; storing; as well as handling and issuing of supplies. This work requires the incumbent to be physically fit, and able to operate a forklift; and able to proficiently use a computer/inventory application.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehouse environment and knowledge of warehousing/inventory methods and procedures, ability to use software applications, along with knowledge of various types of supplies, tools and equipment used in Municipal operations.
The successful applicant will have:
- Sound knowledge of storekeeping and inventorying methods and procedures.
- Sound knowledge of the various types of supplies, tools and equipment used in municipal construction, maintenance and garage operations.
- Sound knowledge of WHIMIS regulations governing the work performed.
- Ability to perform routine clerical and recordkeeping tasks manually and/or using software applications.
- Ability to operate a forklift truck.
- Ability to assume higher level duties and responsibilities in the absence of a superior.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with employees and others.
- Ability to use a computer terminal and software applications related to the work.
- Sufficient strength and stamina to perform related manual work.
Qualifications
Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by courses related to inventory management, and sound related experience in the area of inventory management, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and an Industrial Lift Truck Operator Certificate are required for this role.

Salary: The pay range for this unionized position is $30.70 to $36.08 per hour (2024 rates)
Hours of Work: 40-hour work week (Compressed work schedule available)
