Duties will include:
- Provide capital and maintenance planning, engineering design and project management services for the electrical utility.
- Perform load studies/forecasts and economic analysis of energy supply options.
- Ability to express ideas effectively, orally and in writing, and analyze a variety of technical problems, make recommendations as to their solution, and to prepare working procedures.
- Prepare reports, attend meetings of Council, committees, and other organizations.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with municipal officials and employees, other level of governments, and the public.
- Other duties, responsibilities, and functions as assigned by the Director.
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized university or technical institute along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in utility or consulting engineering.
- Knowledge in planning, design, supervision, and trouble shooting of the installation of capital additions to a diesel generation plant and high voltage substation and electrical distribution system is an asset.
- Must be eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers of PEI.
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required.
- Bilingualism would be considered an asset.
