QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess a valid Class 5 BC Drivers License
- High School Diploma supplemented with Level One Bylaw Enforcement and Investigating Skills Course or equivalent
- Preferred 3-5 years prior job related experience in a local Government setting and a minimum two years experience in enforcement work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
ABILITIES
- Ability to deal with confrontations in a professional manner
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Well developed report writing skills
- Ability to interpret maps and legal descriptions
- Sound knowledge of local Government bylaws, and associated Provincial and Federal statutes, including the Local Government Act and Community Charter
- Ability to operate a networked personal computer and can operate the computer software programs utilized within the department
- Ability to represent the City at Court hearings
- Ability to deal in a confident and humane manner with wild or domestic animals
The successful applicant must be able to successfully clear an RCMP personal background check.
The rate of pay for this position is $35.09 per hour, in accordance with the Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 2093
