The City of Prince George has unveiled a new device to help persons with disabilities vote independently during Advance Voting Days at City Hall in the 2014 General Local Election.

Chief Election Officer Walter Babicz and representatives from the Canadian National Institute for the Blind announced the acquisition of an "AutoMARK" voting machine today at City Hall.

AutoMARK provides autonomy to electors who are blind, visually impaired or have another disability or condition which makes it difficult for them to traditionally mark a ballot.

The device will be available for use during Advance Voting Days at City Hall (8:00am to 8:00pm, November 5 and 12, 2014).
